100 UCAS Tariff Points from A Levels or equivalent (in a relevant subject)
Minimum age 18
Diploma in Foundation Studies in Art and Design
GCSE English Language at grade C or equivalent
Students without the necessary qualifications but with relevant work experience (and a good portfolio) are encouraged to apply.

Course Description
Perhaps today more than ever we characterize or express identity through dress and visual appearance. Contemporary design is an exciting opportunity for you to explore clothing, jewellery and body adornment as a distinctive, dynamic and expressive art form.
You will be excited by and have an aptitude for 3D design, in relation to fashion, jewellery and sculptural form for the body. The fundamentals of drawing, design, cultural and contextual research will underpin technical tuition in a wide ranging and unique mix of practical skills related to fashion, jewellery and sculptural design for the body.
The School of Art, Design and Media has well established industrial links to support your studies. Work is project based, through a combination of both self and client initiated design briefs.

Assessment
Learning and assessment takes place through the development of knowledge acquisition, practical assignments, professional and research skills. Tuition is through a mix of lectures, practical workshops, seminars, tutorials, work as well as web based learning.
