Course Content: The Diploma is a one-year programme of study for teachers and lecturers who work in the field of Post-16 Education and Training. The part time course acts as year 2 of the BA Honours Degree in Education and Training and is for those who have gained a Certificate in Education or PGCE and are looking to extend their knowledge, understanding, criticality and research skills in relation to current policy and management issues in the Post Compulsory Sector. The programme relates to and builds upon the practical and pertinent issues brought to it by the diversity of group members. You will study: Issues Of Policy and Practice in Post Compulsory Education, Issues in Professional Learning and Development, Critical Enquiry and Introduction to Research during the year.

Progression: You may progress onto the BA (Hons) Education and Training with Sunderland University, which takes a further year to complete and is a combination of modules and research focusing on your own area of professional practice.
