Foundation Diploma In Sport & Active Leisure Level 1

Is this course for me?
This course will give you a broad base of understanding and
skills across a wide range of sport and leisure roles and relate
directly to the industry.
What will I study?
You don't need to be an athlete to study the Diploma and go on
to a career in this industry which spans fitness instruction,
equipment supply, stadium and activity centre management, ground
keeping and play work.
You will cover three main themes: sport and active leisure and
the individual, the economy and the community.
Lifestyle choices have an impact on your health and wellbeing.
By studying the Diploma you will learn the impact on your health
and selfconfidence.
You will have access to fantastic facilities including: David
Beckham Football Academy, Goals football ground at Beckenham and
Colfes Sports Centre.
We also have good links with Fulham, Charlton and Millwall
Football Clubs and Lewisham and Croydon School Sports
Partnerships.
You will also practise and acquire essential functional skills
in English, maths and ICT delivered in the context of Sport and
Active Leisure. There will be a two week work placement.
What can I do next?
This can lead to a place on the next level of Diploma or other
Level 2 programme or in to the Sport and Active Leisure
industry.
What are the entry requirements?
You will need to complete an initial assessment with evidence of
a previous excellent record of attendance, punctuality and
commitment from your school or college. You will also be required
to attend an interview at the College.
What will it cost?
If you are under 19 and a home student, in most circumstances,
you don't pay any fees. However, you will need to find this out
when you apply.
