Course programme
Study programmes in the Foundation Studies area provide a progression route to employment, vocational study and/or apprenticeships for individuals with additional support needs and/or barriers to learning. Programmes aim to equip learners with the skills, confidence and independence required for successful progression by providing a highly supportive learning environment and diverse, exciting curriculum. Learners are provided with a high level of support and guidance, and encouraged to set themselves challenging, achievable goals in order for their aspirations to be achieved.
Programmes incorporate a combination of vocational learning, personal and social skills development and Functional Skills in English and Maths.
Access to a wide range of specialist resources and facilities provide exciting opportunities for learners to develop their skills in an active environment*. Programmes are individualised at both entry level and level 1, and enable learners to sample a range of subjects and make informed decisions regarding their next steps.

Entry Requirements
No formal entry requirements however learners need to demonstrate a commitment and willingness to work towards agreed goals and have the flexibility to participate in periods of extended work experience. Candidates may also be required to successfully completea preview programme which will be held at the end of June or beginning of July.

Course Progression
Following completion of a Learning for Living and Work programme, learners may be able to progress to further study programmes within the STEPS (Supported Transition and Employment Pathways) area, progress onto a vocational course or an Apprenticeship.

Applying for a Full-Time course
Our term starts the week commencing 5th September 2016,
however you may have different start dates depending on the course.
You will receive the details of your first day over the summer period,
