Objectives:

You have studied long lists of vocabulary…

You really worked on your grammar…

But how to put it all together and SPEAK in French?

How to express your thoughts with spontaneity and fluidity?

How to discuss and defend your opinion?

This is the purpose of this class.

Course organisation:

Starting from simple exchanges of information about daily activities,

Describing specific situations and happenings,

We will progress into more complex reporting,

Then move into discussions: how to request, to give and to defend an opinion using specific expressions to explain, to contest, to indicate your preferences, to give advices, to make hypothesis, share your expectations, etc.

Methods:

We will use clips from French films as starting point for conversations. These clips will be selected to cover the most diverse situations, and will give you a framework, a vocabulary, a tone for conversation. They will vary from colloquial, familiar to formal, even intellectual, and abstract French and will induce you to express yourself differently in different contexts. In the process your grammar and your vocabulary will be put to test and will progress considerably. You will need them to say what you want!
