What will I learn?
French culture, philosophy, literature and view on life are remarkably different from those of the British. Studying French brings you into close contact with the country?s traditions and gives you direct access to one of the world?s richest literary and artistic traditions. You will improve your command of the language, both written and spoken and study contemporary sources, including the media. You will learn within the context of the culture, society and way of French life.
What qualifications do I need?
We would normally require candidates to have the standard sixth form entry requirements including GCSE French at Grade A or B.
Career opportunities:
Language can take you anywhere you want to go! You could go onto a job that specifically uses languages such as an interpreter, translator, teacher or diplomat. However, you will also find that most employers strongly value a language especially where you may be required to travel or deal with overseas clients/companies.
