Why should I study A2 Level Accounting?
Studying A2 Accounting will increase your practical financial and management skills and enable you to evaluate financial information in order to make better business decisions.
What will be studied on the course?
You will study a total of two modules which will involve preparing the final accounts of partnerships and companies; evaluating accounts using ratios; accounting for material, labour and overhead costs; and carrying out investment appraisal. Students will assess different types of business finance and use advanced techniques when dealing with changes in a partnership - such as retirement, admission and dissolution.
What qualifications are needed to do the course?
The minimum entry level is success in AS Accounting.
How will the learner be assessed?
This is a modular course and there will be two compulsory assessment units:
Module 3 - 50% 2 hours
Module 4 - 50% 2 hours
All modules are assessed via examination.
How much will the course cost?
All books and equipment will be provided.
What progression routes are available?
A2 Accounting is an excellent base for many other related qualifications eg. The Association of Accounting Technicians, CIMA., CIPFA., ACCA., ICAEW and further study in Higher Education. It can be used as part of an A level programme for access to H.E. courses, particularly for business courses.
