About this course

You will need to have taken at least
seven subjects at GCSE and
passed English at C, and achieved
a minimum point score of 5 as well
as GCSE Art.at C or above
OR
· Level 2 Diploma (e.g. BTEC First
Diploma) at Distinction and either
GCSE English grade C or Key Skills
Communication at Level 2
· A portfolio will also be required
· Interview and Reference

A Level Art and Design - Photography
Course Details
This course will allow you to study photography as a form of
communication and as a means to expressing ideas. Students will have the opportunity to develop observational awareness as well as practical skills in this specialised area of Art & Design.

What will I study?
· The appreciation of photography

· Camera techniques

· Lighting

· Darkroom techniques

· Finishing and presentation

· Digital photography

You will also be taught how to research a project with a final
outcome.

Coursework and examination at the end of the year
Level: 3

Entry Requirements:
Progression/Careers: UCAS points are gained according to your level of achievement.
You may progress onto University Degrees or HNDs.

However, for students who wish to specialise in Art and Design
subjects at University it is more usual to follow a Foundation course designed to prepare students for degree level work.

Costs/Equipment: Studio Fee: £30, plus materials for personal use and college trips
