WHAT WILL YOU DO?
You will do work-based training with an employer. You will be paid a wage. Your apprenticeship will involve working towards a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ), Key Skills as described below:

The Apprenticeship at Level 2 in Accounting is normally
completed in one year.
WHAT OPPORTUNITIES ARE AVAILABLE AFTERWARDS?
Progression to the Advanced Apprenticeship in Accounting is possible if you have the potential. This includes an NVQ Level 3 in Accounting, after which people generally specialise in one of the sub sectors of accounting such as accounting practice, industry and commerce or public sector.
Professional institutions exist for accountants at both senior and technician level. Each requires specific education and training targets to be completed before full professional status is obtained. There is a range of accountancy and finance related diplomas and degrees offered by higher education institutions.
