Why choose Accounting?
Accounting aims to stimulate an interest in business organisations and to enable students to have a better understanding of the financial issues discussed daily in the media. This qualification, whether at AS or A level, provides an excellent foundation for students considering a career in finance; it also develops valuable skills which have direct relevance to many aspects of everyday life.
Key Features of Accounting at Hills Road:
· In our recent student survey the Accounting teachers achieved one of the most positive set of responses in the College.
· Accounting is one of three courses offered by our Economics and Business Studies department.
· There is regular workshop support available to help you develop your understanding, and a peer mentoring scheme.

Resources and Facilities
The Economics and Business Studies department is housed in modern, purpose-built accommodation, including a suite of classrooms and an open-access resource area containing 20 high-specification networked computers. Stocks of textbooks, business journals and case study material are freely available within the department and from the College library, which has an extensive financial section. Accounting students are also provided with their own textbooks and sets of support materials (e.g. detailed study guides and examination papers).
