Is it right for me?
Interested in working with dogs and/or cats but not sure exactly what options there are or what you might be best suited to? There is huge growth in the industry of dog and cat care and related occupations and this course will provide you with a suitable level of practical and theoretical knowledge to move into any aspect of this industry. You will receive training in all aspects of pet care and ownership and an understanding of their health and welfare. You will learn about a wide range of animal related topics that will provide you with the skills you need to specialise in your chosen area.
What qualifications will I need?
Four GCSEs at grade C or above, to include English Language and Science (or equivalent), or vocational qualification merit/credit, plus numeracy / literacy level one or above.

- Animal behaviour and handling

- Kennel and cattery management
- Care and welfare of dogs and cats

Three days a week, practical and theory sessions with visits to relevant establishments.
