Art is forever changing. It has the ability to comment on politics, culture, beliefs and allows people to express their ideas, thoughts and emotions. This can be done by painting, drawing or sculpture.
course aims
This course introduces students to a broad range of practical skills in Fine Art and Design. The course aims to develop and build creative thinking and students will begin the process of portfolio building in preparation for further study in art and design.
course content
The course assumes that you have a keen interest in, but little practical experience of, Art and Design and so covers the basic techniques and skills that you wish to learn. At first you will encounter fairly basic work. As the year progresses, the work will become more challenging and varied and will lead to national qualifications.
