WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?
You will learn the basic skills and requirements for a career in the Construction Industry. The course covers the skills and knowledge aspects for employment in the bricklaying field of work.
WHAT DO I NEED?
WHAT ARE MY COMMITMENTS?
The course requires a minimum of 18 hours per week study, plus any additional support workshop sessions identified. You will need to attend all of the timetabled classes and tutorial/support sessions. If your attendance falls below 85% you may not be able to complete your studies.
The timetable should be:
Monday 9.00 am to 4.30 pm
Tuesday 9.00 am to 4.30 pm
Wednesday 9.00 am to 2.30pm

COURSE CONTENT
You will study and achieve the following qualifications while on the course
Preparation for Employment in the Construction Industries Entry Level 1
Brickwork Diploma level 1
Functional Skills Level 1
Each element comprises of both practical work and theoretical knowledge. There will be continuous practical assessments and exams to help you gain your qualifications throughout the academic year.
You will also complete a programme of Functional Skills in English, Maths and ICT. These Functional Skills are an essential requirement for employment progression, higher education and other further education courses.
On your course you will have a tutorial period, which is designed to support your learning and assist your progress. In addition there are activities to enrich your experience both in your chosen trade and in your student social life.

2e101-09 Course fees 30 16-18 year olds, 502(49) 19 years and over
