WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?
You will Start by covering the required units for the BTEC Level 1 course which will lead onto a BTEC Level 2 First Certificate in Sport in January. This course is aimed at those wishing to find work in the Sport and Leisure Industry or who would like to progress on to further sports courses.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?
Level 1 Units include:

Starting Work in Sport & Leisure
The Healthy Body
Social Responsibility at Work
Taking Part in Sport

Level 2 Units include:

The Body in Sport
Health, Safety & Injury in Sport
Practical Sport

WHAT ARE MY COMMITMENTS?
The course requires a minimum of 14 hours a week study and a willingness to take part in sport and other physical activities. You will need to attend all of your timetabled classes including practical sessions and tutorial/support sessions. If your attendance falls below 85% you may not be able to complete your studies.

WHAT WILL IT COST ME?
3c546-09 Course fees 0 16-18 year olds, 400(133) 19 years and over

Course fees are payable on enrolment. Costs shown in brackets are for those on income-based benefits. Refunds are not normally available.

WHAT ADDITIONAL COSTS ARE THERE?
You will be provided with an SLC sports polo shirt for paractical sessions, but you will be expected to wear appropriate sports clothing and footwear for practical sessions. This includes:

* Trainers
* Shorts / Tracksuit bottoms
* T-shirts / Sweatshirts
* Sports Holdall

Kit costs approximately 100; There may be other costs throughout the year including course related trips (15 - 20 approx) and a residential.
