Course Description
This course is a progression from the First Diploma, although you may come directly on to the Certi�cate. You will continue to learn the theory and practical competencies needed for caring for children in four different age ranges whilst developing your key skills.
You will attend work placement two days per week and college three days a week. You must also complete 800 hours in placement to pass the course and be successful in every age group.

Career Progression
Foundation Degree in Early Years at Craven College
Employment as a Play Leader, Nanny, Support Worker, Classroom Assistant, Early Years Worker or Childminder
Work Experience
Students undertake 4 placements of 2 days a week over the duration of the course, working in a range of different settings covering age ranges 0-1, 1-3, 3-5, 5-8. Placements must be passed in order to achieve the qualification. All placemetns will be arranged by Craven College
Assessment
Continuous assessment by completion of unit assignments
Trips and Enrichment Activities
Trip to Lanzarote with Travel and Tourism students, to develop skills in working with children overseas.
