ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants will have met one of the following entry requirements and attended a successful interview with satisfactory references providing information on behaviour, punctuality and attendance:

BTEC First Diploma in Applied Science; or
Equivalent of GCSE grade C in Double Science and Maths and GCSE
grade D in English; or
Other recognised UK/Overseas related FE Level 2 awards.

PROGRAMME CONTENT/STRUCTURE
This is a broad-based Applied Science course consisting of 18 units. This is a practical and work-related course and the degree of individual choice in selecting units to make up this programme will depend upon demand. On completion of this course students may decide to go into employment or progress onto HE at Croydon Higher Education College or other institutions including Medicine.

In addition to studying some or all of the core Basic Skills of Literacy, Numeracy and IT the subjects covered will include:

Genetics and Genetic Engineering;
Human Physiology;
Microbiological Techniques;
Chemistry;
Role of the Science Technician; and
Scientific Principles.

An accepted route into University or full-time employment.

Most National Diploma students progress onto Higher Education.
