Entry Requirements:
- Available to students with 4 GCSE passes at grade C or above or
- A related First Diploma or
- Mature students with relevant qualifications and/or experience.
It would be highly desirable to have relevant performance experience or qualifications in one of the three art forms - Drama, Dance or Music. Entry to this course is by audition.
Progression/Career Opportunities:
- The National Diploma in Performance provides a practical alternative to the A Level route and is equivalent to 3 A Levels. It offers students progression onto a HND or Degree course, or
- Careers in Music Entertainment, Singing, Performance, Theatre in Education and Performance Support.
Did you know?: The BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts year 1 students performed to over 100 students in the Performing Arts Theatre. The students devised and directed their own pieces around some of the issues linked to Welsh Baccalaureate units. The pieces lasted about fifteen minutes and were based on issues such as, teenage pregnancy, alcohol and drug abuse and drink driving. The feedback was very positive and the student's performed in a confident manner that kept the audience fully engaged.
