About this course
Bands, solo artists, songwriters, composers. Designed for learners aged 16-18 years, or 19-23 year with no previous level 3 qualifications.
Applicants are expected to have a minimum of 4 GCSE’s at 4/C or above and must include either English or maths or an equivalent qualification such as a Level 2.
2 Year Level 3 RSL Extended Diploma
Equivalent to 3 A-Levels and will earn you the UCAS Points needed to go on to University study.
You’ll also develop your personal, business and management skills to give you everything you need to make your mark on the music industry. You will look at how the music industry works and how to get employment in it with a focus on how to market and promote yourself in the music industry.

A songwriting & composition course which looks at structures, forms, styles, keys and musical devices to harness your compositional potential. Lyrical devices teamed with techniques to approach any songwriting challenge. Recording approaches whilst looking at industry practice and how it fits in a diverse and changing media landscape. Developing personal, buisness and mangement skills. Analysing the music industry workings and how to gain employment. Composition, arrangement, recording and mixing are integral to the course.
