Course Description
All organisations depend on effective administration to run smoothly and there is a demand for well trained administrators in a wide variety of areas such as doctorsââ,¬â"¢ surgeries, insurance brokers, building societies, solicitors, accountants, manufacturing and service industries.
This one-year course aims to equip you with all the skills necessary for a career in administration, in a variety of business sectors, at Team Leader/Supervisory level. The course also includes visits to businesses and guest speakers.
Course Content
The main part of the course, City and Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Business and Administration consists of two Administration units: Ensuring Effective Work within the Business Environment, Managing the Business Environment.
You will also undertake 3 IT Units covering Spreadsheets, Database and Creating Presentations.
Additional subjects include: Key Skills Communication, OCR Text Processing Diploma (Intermediate or Advanced), OCR Certificate in Customer Service Level 2, Work Experience
Career Progression
Employment across the full range of the business/service sectors at team leader or supervisory level
Higher Education including Foundation Degrees in Business Administration, Venue and Events Management at Craven College or other providers of your choice.
Ex-students have joined local organisations such as Skipton Building Society, Homeloan Management or are working in areas such as Retail, Human Resources, Financial Services, Health Service and Marketing.
Assessment
The City and Guilds Diploma in Business and Administration and the City and Guilds Customer Service are assessed by timed assignments and mutiple choice online tests.
