About this course

You will need a minimum of four GCSEs at grade E or above, including English at grade D or equivalent Level 1 qualifications. However, enthusiasm for the course is also important. Mature students without these qualifications are also invited to apply.

Course Description:
This Intermediate level course helps you to develop the skills and confidence to work in a modern office environment in a variety of administrative functions.
Course Content:
There are three qualifications gained in this course. BTEC First Certificate in Business,
covering:
· business communication
· providing business and administration support
· exploring business purposes.
BTEC First Certificate in ICT Practitioners, covering:
· using ICT to present information
· ICT supporting organisations
· database software
· spreadsheet software.
OCR Diploma for IT Users Level 1, covering:
· Word
· Access
· Excel
· Web Design
· Powerpoint.
You will also have the opportunity to develop your key work skills in the areas of communication, application of number and IT.
Assessment:
Assessment is by a series of internally and externally-assessed assignments during the course.
Next Steps:
There are many employment opportunities in a wide range of organisations. You may
wish to further your studies whilst working, by gaining an Administration NVQ Level
3, which is available via the Apprenticeship scheme.
