Course Overview This course will enable you to gain a broad understanding of business and study in more depth selected aspects of business. This is a two year course alongside which you will complete the NCFE Level 3 IT Users Qualification. This is a Level 3 qualification equivalent to 3 A levels. You are encouraged to undertake relevant part time employment as this may help you with assignments and projects. However we recommend that you do not work more than 10 hours per week in term time to ensure you allow yourself time for your studies.
Qualification gained: BTEC National Diploma in Business
Course Content: You will study a total of 18 units over 2 years, 6 of these are compulsory units with the remaining 12 specialist units allowing more in depth study of specific areas of business. Units include: Introduction to Business, Business and Management, Presenting Business Information, Business Enterprise, Business Online, Marketing, Finance, Recruitment and Selection, Managing Facilities and Teams.
Work Experience: A work experience placement will be undertaken in each year, this is organised by the College and EBP. We aim to suit your individual aspirations in finding a placement.
Course Assessment: Assessment will be through both internally and externally set assignments and tests. Regular and punctual attendance is vital for you to succeed on this course.
Progression: This course will help you develop an understanding of business and management ready for progression to either higher education or a career in business, retail, accounting, marketing or IT.
Homework: There is a requirement for approximately 10 hours of independent study per week throughout the course to complete the assignments set for each unit.
Additional Costs: You will be expected to provide your own stationery, files and pens etc. Additionally a textbook costing approximately 24 is required. Trips and visits will be undertaken during the course and a contribution to the cost of these may be required.

- Fees quoted with the course information are for the current academic year. Fees for the next academic year starting in September are subject to change and will be confirmed annually.
- Part Time Course Fee Relate to Year 1 course fees only. Two year course fees will have an additional course fee for the second year; these fees are subject to confirmation annually.
