This course is for you if:
You wish to learn to use AutoCAD and gain a nationally recognised qualification. The course is best suited to people who have traditional draughting skills and who wish to become proficient in CAD. AutoCAD is used by over six million users worldwide in a number of areas, such as civil engineering, mechanical, computer aided design and electrical engineering, architectural and construction industries, and interior and fabric design.

Fee Information: The College charges a range of fees, primarily Home and Overseas. Under 19s assessed as Home, do not pay the course fees, we only charge a 20 enrolment fee which is refunded if you complete the course. Home students over 19 undertaking their First Full Level 2 (equivalent to 5 GCSE A-C) or their First Full Level 3 (equivalent to BTEC National or 2 ALevels) will be charged 20 enrolment fee plus any examination fees. For Home students over 19 receiving certain state benefits, the 20 enrolment is charged and not refundable. In all other instances, you will be charged the Home-EU or Overseas Fee.
About the course:
The City & Guilds 4353 scheme is a modular course and covers two levels of the following units:
- 4353-01 (level 2) - The Principles and Practice of 2D Computer Aided Design
- 4353-02 (level 3) - The Application and Modification of 2D Computer Aided Design
The new 4353 CAD scheme has has been substantially improved to meet the demands of local and national employers. The award is a Vocationally Related Qualification (VRC) and is accredited as part of the National Qualifications Framework.
Assessment:
Assessment for all levels consists of the following:
- Two practical assignments - conducted onsite
- One online multiple choice test
Practical assignments can be taken at any time during the course, subject to the tutors's guidance. The online multiple choice test will be available periodically throughout the year.
After the course:
This course is primarily intended for those wishing to develop CAD skills for employment. A number of students continue their studies at college or university studying a higher education course in architectural or engineering.
