Attendance
You will be expected to attend a minimum of 3 days per week, and may be required to attend one evening per week until 21:00

Course Description
This qualification aims to develop the technical skills and knowledge learnt in level 2 to an advanced level.

You will be taught through a combination of classroom and salon activities and will also work in the colleges commercial salon in a supervisory/senior stylist capacity.

Course Structure
Units covered include:

• Health & safety
• Salon management
• Event management & promotions
• Advanced cutting
• Advanced colouring & colour correction
• Advance styling
• Advance hair up work
• Students will also complete Key skills communication

Course Assessment
Assessment will include practical observations, written questions, mandatory online tests and building a portfolio of evidence.

Course Entry requirements

• Applicants must already be qualified to NVQ Level 2 (including perming unit)
• All applicants must complete an initial assessment in Maths and English and attend an interview
• Take part in an industry standard trade test

Course Costs
There are no course fees if you are under 19 years old on 31 August 2010. However, you may have to pay for textbooks, personal kits, uniforms, trips and personal stationery. You will be informed of these at your interview.

Activities such as trips and visits will be arranged, which are beneficial to this course and your learning. These activities are optional and additional fees will be charged to you. Details will be provided at the time of interview.
