There are a variety of acceptable entry requirements for this course, but each student?s qualification profile and previous learning experience will be reviewed at interview. However, in terms of acceptable GCSEs, a points system linked to your GCSE grades can be used and the following table can be applied. You would need a total of 16 GCSE Points for this particular course. When calculating your points you should include English, Mathematics and a Science subject in the points calculation. Points Calculation GCSE Grade = Points Score A* = 8, A = 7, B = 6, C = 5, D = 4, E = 3, F = 2, G = 1.

Due to the structure of this course, on completion you will leave the College with 2 qualifications equivalent to 3 A-Levels, greatly enhancing your future opportunities.

What will I study?
You will study 11 units, which will include: Safety; Plumbing Principles & Processes; Cold & Hot Water System; Sanitation; Central Heating; Electrical Supply; Sheet Lead & Environmental Awareness and Working Relationships. The course contains both theory and practical plumbing workshop based lessons. You will also study Level 2 Key Skills in Application of Number and Communication. For the Welsh Baccalaureate you will explore a wide range of areas including how Wales ?fits in? with Europe and the rest of the world, the health of the nation and how to be enterprising.
How will I be assessed?
You will have practical and job knowledge unit tests as well as externally set tests and internally marked tests.
Career Opportunities & Progression
As a result of successfully completing this programme you will be able to progress to Plumbing Certificate Level 3 courses and future employment in plumbing.
