The course covers all aspects of dance and focuses particularly on choreography and performance. Learners will be expected to choreograph solo and group dances and to analyse performances and focus on anatomy for dancers. They will be expected to perform a solo dance in one of a range of genres. Other aspects of the course focus on the study of set works in ballet and contemporary dance as well.

About this course

A minimum of 6 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including Maths and English/Welsh
Previous dance experience is essential
GCSE Dance is an advantage although it is not mandatory

Dance may be combined with either Arts or Science subjects thus providing career opportunities in a wide variety of areas from Theatre, Television, Media, Education and Arts management
Other career options are Dance Movement Therapy, Dance Notation and Criticism and Journalism
