Campus: Bridgend and Maesteg

Length of Course: 1 year (may be extended if the student is showing progress but needs extra time) for up to 16 hours per week.

Description: A flexible and supported programme for students who wish to update their IT skills. Students with disabilities are provided with a full range of technical aids and software to assist in achieving the qualification. The pace of the course is tailored to meet the individual needs of the students and is therefore suitable for those who lack confidence and need a sheltered opportunity to progress into further education or employment. Work placement opportunities are given to every student where the skills learnt are put into practice. Modules include:

• Web Design
• Computer Hardware
• Using the Internet
• E-mail
• Spreadsheets
• Power Point
• Word Processing
• Databases

Entry requirements: No previous IT or administrative qualifications or experience are required, however a formal interview is usually required.

Progression/Career Opportunities: To study further at a higher level or seek employment.
