Course Description
A one year course, Fresh Start offers a core of English, Numeracy and IT at several levels to which you can add a choice of other GCSEs. You will have an individual timetable made up from your own choice of subjects to suit your skills and talents.

Work experience is not generally engaged in, but if you would like to do this, you can discuss it with your course tutor.

Course Content
Core Subjects:

If you do not already have grade C in English and Maths, you will be expected to take either GCSEs in these subjects or Literacy and Numeracy

Key Skills ICT is taken by all students unless they have already achieved level 2

You can then select from the options below:

GCSE options, Level 2

Art, Biology, Chemistry, Drama, Humanities, Literature, Maths, Media, Physics, Science, Sociology (To take further GCSEs, you need to have a pro�le of at least 3 GCSEs at grade D)

Course Length and Study Pattern
The course starts in September and most subjects are examined in late May/early June. Students need to be aware that there is extensive coursework to be completed in most subjects by April.

Many course options at both Level One and Level Two A Level programmes or vocational quali�cations

Assessment
The course is assessed through a mix of coursework and external exams.
