Attendance
You are expected to be available to attend college Monday to Thursday 9am to 5.30pm and Friday 9am to 4.30pm.

Course Description
The course comprises of 2 main parts:

The BTEC L 2 First Certificate in Business and

NVQ L2 in Business Administration

Course Structure
The First Certificate in Business consists of 3 modules;
  • Exploring Business Purposes,
  • People in Organisations and
  • Business Communications


The NVQ consists of 5 units which are studied in a Realistic Work Environment within the College.

You will also take key skills as appropriate.

Course Assessment
All units are internally assessed by means of a portfolio of evidence which will be built up during the duration of the course.

You will be expected to undertake some research and written assignment work for the BTEC qualification in your own time.

  • 4 GCSEs at grade D or above including English.
  • Administration, Business, Retail and Customer Service Level 1

Course Costs
There are no course fees if you are under 19 years old on 31 August 2010. However, you may have to pay for textbooks, personal kits, uniforms, trips and personal stationery. You will be informed of these at your interview.

Course Enrichment
Activities such as trips and visits will be arranged, which are beneficial to this course and your learning. These activities are optional and additional fees will be charged to you. Details will be provided at the time of interview.
