We offer work experience in statutory, voluntary and private sector organisations, residential study experience, visits to Community Care events and exhibitions, first aid certificate training, a team adventure day and a range of speakers.

How is it assessed?
This course is assessed through coursework. Each unit is internally assessed and moderated. There are no exams. Work experience is integral to the course and is part of the assessment criteria.

What do I need to study this subject?
You should have four GCSE grades A*-D including English Language and Maths or Science. Effective communication skills, a good record of attendance and punctuality, and an awareness of anti-discriminatory practice are essential. All students are required to complete a Criminal Records Bureau check at the beginning of the course.
Where can this lead me?
Progression to level 3 courses depends upon your grades. The qualification is accepted for entry to the Diploma in Nursing course in some universities, and employment in care settings, for example, health care assistant.
What are the enrichment opportunities?
We offer work experience in a range of care settings, visits to university open days, food hygiene and various guest speakers.
