Is this course for you
This is a new course for those wishing to prepare for a modern apprenticeship in Plumbing, Ventilation and Heating. It leads to a City & Guilds qualification (C&G 6128) and would allow you to become partly qualified before going onto an apprenticeship.

What will you study
This course specialises in developing plumbing skills including units in: Safe Working Practices * Installation of Domestic Systems * Boilers and Heating Systems * Sanitary Systems and Drainage * Health & Safety * Handling Materials. In addition you will also study functional skills in: Application of Number * Communications * IT.

How will you be assessed
The assessment of practical skills will be continuous throughout the programme and your knowledge and understanding will be assessed through written assignments and external examinations. You will be expected to build a portfolio of evidence of your plumbing work and you will need to show good compliance to Health & Safety throughout the course. What

What can you do after course
We would anticipate you taking employment as an apprentice or trainee and returning to College as a day-release student while undergoing work-based learning.
