. Two Highers, to include Higher English and preferably a Social Science e.g. Psychology,Sociology, Modern Studies, History or Geography or NC Social Sciences. . Relevant experience will be taken into account. . Consideration may be given for those without these qualifications in exceptional circumstances. . Mature students may be admitted without formal qualifications.

HNC Social Sciences (Full time)

Aims:
This course is designed to be of interest to people who intend to
develop skills relevant to Higher Education and to employment.
Its aim is the development of knowledge, understanding and
analytical abilities relevant to the Social Sciences.

Duration:
1 Year Full-time August to June.

. Psychology
. Graded Unit (exam)

Articulation:
Formal articulation arrangements are in place to study a range of
Social Science courses at four Glasgow wide universities.
Glasgow Caledonian 1st Year
On achieving a minimum of 'C' Grade in the Graded Unit.
(2nd year entry is possible with additional conditions being met.
Courses in Criminology and Law must be completed for entry to
2nd year at Glasgow Caledonian University.)
University of the West of Scotland 1st Year
On achieving a minimum of 'C' Grade in the Graded Unit.
University of Glasgow 1st Year
On achieving a minimum of 'A' Grade in the Graded Unit.
University of Strathclyde 1st Year
On achieving a minimum of 'B' Grade in the Graded Unit.
University of Glasgow and University of Strathclyde have additional
articulation arrangements, Supported Selection Procedure (SSP).
This is for students who are over 21 or have at least one Higher at B
achieved over one sitting. A piece of work will be submitted to the
universities and if accepted the offer will be reduced to a 'C' Grade.
Further Study:
The course is designed to prepare students for further study in a
range of subjects. Previous students have also progressed to
courses at the Universities of Stirling, Abertay and Napier as well as
other UK wide university courses.
