The Course
This work-related programme of study includes both vocational knowledge and practical skills required in the hospitality and catering sector. Students are able to gain experience in our kitchens, restaurants, bar and reception office. A placement of at least four weeks in a hospitality and catering establishment is included in the course.
There is a residential opportunity each year and, in previous years, students have been offered the chance to visit local hospitality outlets as well as compete in regional cooking competitions for the industry.

Students are assessed by observation in the practical areas, by building up a portfolio of evidence for the 18 units of study.
Progression/Career Path
Students can gain employment in a wide range of establishments including hotels, hospitals and conference centres with excellent opportunities to join supervisory and management training programmes. Students can also go on to study at university for a Degree or Higher National Diploma.
