Is this course for you
This is a very practical -hands on- course which will develop skills using Microsoft packages and the internet. It will provide a good understanding of business organisation and how IT is used effectively in the workplace. This course will include using the internet, e-mailing, how computers work, the use of digital cameras and manipulating photographs and looking at the inside of the computer.

What will you study
The main modules cover three areas relevant to the IT industry * How Businesses use IT - Looking at the Gaming Industry * The People in IT- Job Types and Skills * Technology - The Digital World. You will also cover * Functional Skills * Team Work * 10 Days Work Experience * Small Project Additional and Specialist Learning - an additional single subject which you are interested in. You may decide it will be IT based (such as games design or web design) or a non IT subject that will add value to your course.

How will you be assessed
By assignments and some exams which are completed throughout the year at the end of each unit and a small project.

What can you do after course
On completion of the course you will have gained 5 GCSEs D-G and developed personal skills and qualities needed to gain work within the IT sector at a junior level, or to continue onto the Higher Level Diploma.
