What will I study?
Throughout the course you will develop your knowledge of IT systems and applications, and apply that knowledge in practical projects and assignments.

You will take 3 core units:
  • Language & Communications
  • Computer Systems
  • Business Information Systems

You will also take 2 specialist units:
  • Application Software Development
  • Programming Concepts and Practice

Plus 1 further specialist unit from a list including:
  • Software Development Project
  • Visual Programming
  • Introduction to Software Development
  • Systems Analysis and Design
  • Website Management
  • Website Development
  • Expert Systems


How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through practical projects and assignments.

What can I do next?
Along with other qualifications, a National Award in Software Development can lead to study at Degree of HND Level in Computing, E-Business, IT for Practitioners and Software Engineering as well as providing valuable skills for other higher level courses and employment.
