Attendance
You will be expected to attend a minimum of 3 to five days per week, depending upon timetable.

Course Description
This qualification aims to provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out specialised, personalised and complimentary holistic therapy treatments. You will be taught through a combination of classroom and salon activities such as practical demonstrations, ILT methods, tutorials and small group work.

Course Structure

• Unit VR02/74 Health, safety & employment standards
• Unit VR17 Prepare for and provide body massage
• Unit VR27 Assess the client and blend oils for aromatherapy
• Unit VR28 Provide aromatherapy
• Unit VR35 Prepare for and provide reflexology
• Unit VR52 Use interpersonal skills with therapy clients
• Unit VR57 Assess the client for holistic treatment
• VTCT Indian Head Massage

Course Assessment
Assessment will include practical observations on paying clients, assignments, case studies and building a portfolio of evidence.

Course Entry Requirements

• Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy
• For equivalent qualifications see the Entry Requirements Explained page
• All applicants must complete an initial assessment in Maths and English and attend an interview
• Must be 18 years or over
• Excellent communication skills

Course Costs
There are no course fees if you are under 19 years old on 31 August 2010. However, you may have to pay for textbooks, personal kits, uniforms, trips and personal stationery. You will be informed of these at your interview.

Activities such as trips and visits will be arranged, which are beneficial to this course and your learning. These activities are optional and additional fees will be charged to you. Details will be provided at the time of interview.
