Course Content
In year one there is a strong focus on exploring a range of media, including film, video and television, animation, digital and web media, photography and writing for print and broadcast media.
During the second year, students will begin to select areas of interest and will increasingly develop their own ideas and modes of working. We encourage students to think independently and develop their creative abilities to the full. The department of Art, Design and Media has excellent resources, augmented by staff who are experienced teachers and practitioners in a range of media activities.
The programme is delivered primarily through workshops and project based activity, supported by research into the world of historical and current media practice and an understanding of the nature of media industries. Students are encouraged to progress on to Higher Education or employment and will be given detailed support in finding the most appropriate course or career move, filling in UCAS applications and developing a portfolio or show-reel for interview. Students will work in a friendly and supportive environment with staff.

Assessment/Exams
Continuous assessment throughout the programme.

Progression/Career Path
Students are able to progress on to a range of Higher Education programmes principally BTEC Higher National Diploma, Foundation Degree and BA Hons Degree courses in Art and Design, Media and related disciplines or employment.
