Description of course:
The A Level Media programme is part practical part theoretical. It includes creating a media product for both the first and second year of the programme, allowing the students to develop professional technical skills in a range of areas. In the first year of the course, students study in detail, TV Drama and Media Industries, and in the second year students complete a research project on topics such as We Media and Democracy and Media and Collective Identity.

Entry requirements:
Year 1 To study for 3 AS levels a minimum of 5 GCSEs A* - C inclusive of minimum grades are required. To study for 4 AS levels a minimum of 6 GCSEs A* - C inclusive of minimum grades are required. To study for 5 AS levels a minimum of 7 GCSEs A* - C inclusive of minimum grades are required. Year 2 To progress to A2 you are required to pass the AS level in the subject you wish to progress in.

Specific entry requirements:
GCSE English C or above. If you have taken GCSE Media Studies you should have obtained grade C or above.

Advanced Level GCE courses are very different from GCSEs. Students need to be prepared to demonstrate intellectual curiosity and willingness to work. The number of students, and the wide range of schools they come from to study at Advanced Level GCE, ensures stimulating work and discussion groups.
