You should have an interest in the motor trade and an aptitude for practical tasks. Your numeracy and literacy skills will be assessed before interview and you must be at Entry Level 3 or above. Entry will require a successful interview.

Course Description:
If you are interested in the motor trade as a career, this course will help you gain the skills you need to get started.
Course Content:
The course covers both practical activities and theory. You will be required to carry out practical tasks on vehicles to a high standard, which will prepare you for your work placement in the future. Theory will be delivered in the classroom and you will be
expected to gain a good level of knowledge of vehicle systems. Health and safety will be a priority, with a focus on teamwork, problem solving and communication.
Assessment:
Production of a portfolio and short tests.
Next Steps:
Progression to a Level 2, full-time course or into employment with part-time study. From Level 2 full-time study, you may become an Apprentice and gain Level 3 by part-time study.
