The Course

Our course equips you with the skills, knowledge and understanding to forge a career as a music producer. The course is led by a lecturing team, many of whom continue to work professionally at the highest levels of the music industry. Throughout your studies, you will be taking advantage of our extremely well resourced recording studio complex which includes 30 soundproofed studios. The studios and computer teaching areas are equipped with Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Cubase, as well as other industry-standard software packages such as Ableton, CS3, Sibelius and MAX/MSP.
The assessments are designed to not only reflect the current practices in music production but also to introduce you to a variety of working methods providing you with a usable portfolio of works and a relevant CV.

This course provides you with a solid understanding of music technology and production techniques, preparing you for application to our BA (Hons) Music Production top-up Degree and a career in the music industry. Recent ex students have gone on to careers in studio engineering, live sound, computer games sound and a couple to the top of the charts.
