· Course Overview: · This course will be of interest to anyone intending to enter a career in Hairdressing. This foundation level course is made up of various mandatory units which cover the following subject areas: Shampoo and condition hair, Blow dry hiar, Assist with salon reception duties, Contribute to the development of effective working relationships, Ensure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety, Prepare for hairdressing services and maintain work areas. The course involves substantial class contact which includes tutorial support, workshops and learning support.

Entry Requirements: · An Introductory course suitable for beginners. School leavers should aim for at least 4 GCSEs at grades E-G, alternatively the successful completion of the Entry to Employment programme. Applicants with no formal qualifications will be considered following the outcome of a guidance interview. All applicants will be interviewed and assessed for literacy and numeracy and will be expected to demonstrate enthusiasm, commitment and good communication skills. Applicants must be prepared to work one day per week in industry and one during the course.
