Attendance
You are expected to be available to attend college Monday to Thursday 9am to 5.30pm and Friday 9am to 4.30pm.

Course Description
The course comprises of 6 business related units plus key skills as appropriate.

Course Structure
There are 4 core units:

• Investigating Business
• Customer Service
• Business Communications
• Finance for Business

Plus 2 option units

Course Assessment
All units are internally assessed by means of a portfolio of evidence which will be built up during the duration of the course. Each unit is graded either , Pass, Merit or Distinction with an overall grade being awarded for the full qualification.

You will be expected to undertake research and written assignment work in your own time.

Course Entry Requirements

• 4 GCSE grades A- C including English
• Gateway to Business Level 2
• For equivalent qualifications see the Entry Requirements Explained page
• All applicants must complete an initial assessment in Maths and English and attend an interview

Course Costs
There are no course fees if you are under 19 years old on 31 August 2010. However, you may have to pay for textbooks, personal kits, uniforms, trips and personal stationery. You will be informed of these at your interview.

Course Enrichment
Activities such as trips and visits will be arranged, which are beneficial to this course and your learning. These activities are optional and additional fees will be charged to you. Details will be provided at the time of interview.

Course Progression

• Business related HNC/HND
• Professional qualifications in areas such as Accountancy, HR, Law or Marketing

Course Career Prospects

• 
  Supervisory or junior management positions in business organisations which may offer the opportunity to study for further qualifications on a part time basis.
