The Course
A cluster of exciting, stimulating and advanced Diplomas in Complementary Therapy. Some subjects are optional.

Course Content
Level 3 Diploma in Additional Aromatherapy Techniques
The critical aspect of this qualification is the advanced knowledge required to safely blend essential oils and carrier oils and their appropriateness in use based on client assessment.

Level 3 Diploma in Additional Techniques in Stress Management
This qualification is designed to introduce the concept of managing and controlling stress both to the therapist and the client. The critical aspect of this qualification is to provide a framework for the selective application of a range of non-medical therapy techniques to aid well being. This qualification is supported by Skills for Health and the Prince of Wales Foundation for Integrated Health.

Level 3 Diploma in Additional Reflexology Techniques
This Diploma stretches the reflexology therapist to consider other areas of the body. In addition, the technique is frequently provided by Health Service personnel as an extra skill and particularly in its role of comforting and supporting terminally ill patients.

Level 3 Diploma in Colour Therapy (optional)
This Diploma includes counselling techniques and the relationship of colour therapy to auras and chakras. It covers the use of colour in connection with other therapies such as Yoga, Crystal Therapy and Reflexology.

Level 3 Diploma in Crystal Therapy (optional)
This Diploma includes interpersonal skills consultation and the use of crystals with other therapies in a complementary treatment programme. All types of crystals are covered to provide a comprehensive framework as a basis for a life long study. Methods of cleansing, placing and dowsing with crystals are developed over the duration of the course.

Level 3 Non-Medical Nutritional Advice
This course covers the dietary and nutritional advice given to a client to help them achieve a healthier, balanced life style.

Level 3 Diploma in Reiki (optional)
The origins of Reiki lay in the work of Doctor Mikao Usui, who travelled throughout Japan meditating and studying Christianity and Buddhism for spiritual enlightenment in the 19th century. Students may need to have previously achieved Levels 1 and 2.

Assessment/Exams
Students are continually assessed by direct observation, oral questioning, written task sheets and assignments.

Progression/Career Path
Many new fields are opening to this ever expanding complementary therapy field, and opportunities are growing in the Health Care sectors with doctors now recognising the benefits of alternative treatments.
Complementary Therapies are increasingly used in education with students with learning difficulties who respond to sensory therapies such as light, sound, colour and smell.

Level 3 Diploma in Complementary Therapies.

Experience Required
It is desirable to be a practising therapist.
