Is this course for you
The BTEC National Diploma in Sport is a balanced academic and practical work related course. You will learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. You will follow two distinct pathways within the course of study. Within the Football Development Centre you will have the opportunity to gain top class coaching and playing opportunities in competitive British College fixtures and also gain your Level 1 or 2 FA Certificate in Coaching Football. Within the HRC Fitness Academy you will have the opportunity to gain a range of recognised gym qualifications alongside your studies.
Duration
2 Years. (Students initially enrol onto the BTEC Award for the first year before progressing onto the BTEC National Diploma).

All units are assessed and graded, and an overall grade for the qualification is awarded.
What can you do after course
BTEC National Diplomas are valued by both employers and Higher Education (Universities and Colleges). If you want to work you could find employment in a range of areas that include Sports Centres, Fitness Clubs, Outdoor Activity Centres and Sports Development and Coaching. If you decide to go to University you could take a degree in Sports Studies, Leisure Management or Teacher Training.
Additional information
Cost of sports kit - approximately £175 (Football Development Centre) or £60 (Fitness Academy). Key Skills/Functional Skills - you will be expected to undertake these at the appropriate level.
