The class will be based on the Russian method of classical ballet, therefore enabling more upper body and arm movements to be used, the class will involve some warm up ballet.

Ballet Exercise - over 50s

Your Course
The aim of the course is to offer a gentle dance class that incorporates a selection of ballet exercises which enable mature bodies to enjoy artistic movement safely, working with any individual physical constraints. The class will be based on the Russian method of classical ballet, therefore enabling more upper body and arm movements to be used, the class will involve some warm up ballet exercises and centre work that will utilise the space and enable a great sense of movement. The emphasis is on individual attention enabling each person to develop and work at their own pace.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the 8 week course, you will have had the opportunity to:
· develop and improve body posture and alignment
· enhance coordination skills
· use movement for self expression
· enhance musicality and memory skills.
Your Tutor
Cara Moorey trained in Cambridge with the City Academy of Dance and The Eden Dance Centre and full time at London Studio Centre and in New York. Her training incorporated the Vaganova Style of Classical Ballet and The Russian Method. She qualified as a teacher with Honours with the National Association of Teachers of Dance. She has taught all ages, levels and abilities in Cambridge and New York, from beginners doing it for pleasure to advanced ballet students pursuing a professional dance career.

Tuition fees: £ 40
Method of payment: Fees for short courses (10 weeks or less) to be paid in full at enrolment and for long courses (12 weeks or more) fees of 50% can be paid at enrolment plus 50% as a cheque. Course places cannot be reserved without receipt of both payments.
Half term:
Please note that there are no classes during half term Monday 15th - Friday 19th February 2010 unless otherwise stated.
