Course Summary:
The full-time Foundation Degree in Sports Therapy at Nescot College is a 2-year course, established in partnership with the Society of Sports Therapists to address the sports and leisure industrys demand for the care of injured participants. With an increasing emphasis on 'Sport for All' and an escalating participation at all levels, it has become essential to have qualified professionals in the treatment of sporting injuries.

An important element to the qualification is the work done in local clinics and practices, to complement theoretical constructs and themes.

Career Progression:
In order to practice as a Sports Therapist a BSc. in Sports Therapy must be obtained. Nescot's Foundation Degree is validated by the University of Kent at Chatham. Other universities accept our graduates into year 2 or 3 of the BSc.Sport Therapy degree programme.

Other Information:
The NASM Fitness qualification and ITEC Sports Massage qualification is part of the year one syllabus. Sports First Aid and ITEC Sports Massage are additional qualifications gained on the programme.

Requirement
You will normally need to have at least one of the following and GCSEs in English and Maths at grade C or above or equivalent: 200 UCAS points 2/3 A levels including one of Science/PE/Sports Studies National Diploma in Sports Studies at grade MMP Mature students who do not possess the formal qualifications may gain entry to the course if they have relevant experience. For overseas students IELTS level 6 is required.
