Beauty Therapy SVQ Level 2
This course is an industry standard qualification which covers basic beauty therapy techniques. You will develop skills in areas such as facial treatments, make-up, eye treatments, depilation and manicure and pedicure. You will also cover health and safety, reception and selling skills for beauty therapy.

During the course you will have the opportunity to take part in a variety of linked activities including visits to trade fairs and exhibitions and the chance to participate in beauty therapy competitions, presentations and demonstrations.

You will be assessed during the course by carrying out practical treatments in the commercial salons and by completing written assessments, projects and assignments.

You are required to purchase a beauty therapy kit, appropriate protective clothing and textbooks.

Further Study/Employment
You can progress to SVQ Level 3 Beauty Therapy in your chosen study route. This course also prepares you for employment within a beauty salon or spa or for self-employment.

Duration: 1 year full time, with one twilight class per week.
