Our Further Education and Skills (ESOL and Literacy) Professional Certificate in Education (PCE) provides you with the skills to teach literacy and English for speakers of other languages (ESOL) in further education colleges. Placements form an integral part of this course so you will spend a number of days each week at your placement college, gaining a minimum of 100 hours' teaching experience.

On successful completion of this one-year course, you can gain Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) professional status from the Education and Training Foundation by submitting a portfolio of evidence.

Minimum of Level 3 in a vocational or professional qualification in your chosen subject areaPlus GCSE grade C or above (or an equivalent qualification) in English. We accept equivalency tests from Equivalency Testing for Career Development,  A Star Equivalency Testing and BCU.
