Placements are a core element of teacher training which enable our trainees to put theory into practice in a supportive environment. We are extremely lucky to work with a wide range of partners across London, Essex and Kent to support our trainees. We work closely with trainees when deciding on placements to ensure that trainees get the best training possible whilst on our programmes. Our strong partnerships ensure our trainees are well supported and have outstanding experiences whilst training with us.

Course programme
The PGCE Education and Training explores a variety of teaching-related subjects. Modules cover learning and assessment, managing behaviours, and the theories and principles of learning.
You will be required to undertake at least 100 hours of teaching practice during the course, choosing from subject specialisms such as early years, English, mathematics, performing arts and special educational needs.
You graduate with a recognised teaching qualification, the Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). Former students have gained promotion, taken up new posts or moved from a voluntary to a permanently employed teaching position.
The course is offered by one of the university's partner colleges: Nescot, in Epsom, Surrey.
