Introduction:
The Biology course provides a good foundation for those planning to study sports science, nursing, physiotherapy or similar courses. It is a national curriculum subject and is therefore a good choice for students wishing to progress to teaching courses.

Study Mode & Location:
This one year part-time course lasts for 2 hours per week and will be held at Preston College, Fulwood Campus, St. Vincent's Road, Preston, PR2 8UR.

Course Content:
You will study the following subjects:

• you and your genes
• keeping healthy
• life on earth
• homeostasis
• growth and development
• brain and mind
• biology in the twenty first century

Assessment:
Two 40 minute exam papers and one 60 minute exam make 67% of the final mark. The other 33% is made up from an investigation.

Careers & Progression Opportunities:
Satisfactory completion of this course can provide progression to an advanced level course. It can also enhance employment opportunities in Teaching, Nursing, Midwifery and many other exciting careers.

How To Apply
You will need to have an informal interview with a Adult Admissions Adviser.
Many courses have limited places so please enquire as soon as possible. Following interview, the earliest you may enrol is mid-June.
