What will I study
Core Science: Evolution, how people affect the planet, coordination and health. Atomic structure, oil, plastics, food and the Earth. Energy, waves and the Universe.

Additional Science: Ecology, enzymes, inheritance and genetic fingerprinting. Chemical structures, rates of reaction, and energy release. Force and momentum, electricity and radioactivity.

Assessment
Assessed by a combination of examination (75%) and coursework (25%).

Assessment
Links very usefully with Health & Social Care and sports courses. It is essential to have a GCSE science qualification for teaching and nursing. And allows progression onto some AS Science courses.
